Make 2010 the best business year ever!

Well, here we are in 2010. January is usually a very quiet month for us, but this first week back has been great! We have had 4 End of Tenancy Cleans, Two rubbish removal jobs and a clean for a Dental practice come in for the 1st week. One of our staff handed in her notice today. We knew she was getting fed up and spoke to her before Christmas, but she said everything was ok. Two of the cleaners are slipping a little, so need to have a word to stop the rot as it were. One of my guys is feeling very down as he may lose his house this year. This affects the moral of the guy he works with, which is not good, so I shall keep an eye. I feel like their mother! Our long term sickness girl has not been in touch since 1st December despite numerous attempts to contact her. Her sick note ran out on 29th December. Took advice from ACAS and we have written to her to say, that if we don't hear from her we will assume she has left. We have a new venture starting in March with the support of an old friend. We are going into the Lettings arena. Should be interesting! I always think it's good to have more than one income stream, you never know when one of them might dry up. Bill Glazer marketing mail has arrived, so looking forward to taking on board his ideas for the new year. What we've been doing so far seems to be working. It seems to generate work weeks and months down the line, so it's important to be consistent. We are planning monthly offers throughout the year to keep it all going. We are going to do flyers door to door for certain aspects of our services. It doesn't work for everything we do, direct mail, continue with our newsletter, use facebook and twitter more, carry on networking and getting out there. Well, I feel positive for year ahead. January will be tough, it's a 5 week month and we only worked for 3 weeks in December, so money will be short. But the new work this week, should make up for it! So it looks like 2010 is going to be a good year. Follow what we are doing and yours could be too!!
